Rexburg Man Sentenced on Meth Charge
POCATELLO – Rick D. Elliot, 48, of Rexburg, Idaho, was sentenced in federal court today to 57 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced. Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Elliot to forfeit $300. Elliot pleaded guilty to the charge on March 25, 2011.
According to evidence presented, Elliot possessed methamphetamine intending to distribute it to another person on November 16, 2009, when he fled from the police, and again on February 26, 2010.
The case was investigated by the Idaho State Police and the Pocatello Police Department.
