Treasure Valley Man Pleads Guilty to Gun Crime
BOISE – Christopher Paul Davis, 31, of Boise, pleaded guilty today in United States District Court to unlawful possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.
According to the plea agreement, on November 2, 2010, Davis sold three firearms to an individual working as a confidential informant (“CI”) with law enforcement. Davis is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony conviction in June 2006 for delivery of a controlled substance.
The charge carries a maximum punishment of up to ten years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, and up to three years supervised release.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 20, 2011, before Chief U.S. District Judge Winmill in Boise.
The case was investigated by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force and prosecuted by the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney hired by the Treasure Valley Partnership and the State of Idaho to address gang crimes.
