Pocatello Woman Pleads Guilty to Impeding a Federal Officer
POCATELLO – Valerie Pottorff, 45, of Pocatello, Idaho, pleaded guilty today in United States Magistrate Court to a misdemeanor count of impeding an officer, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.
According to the plea agreement, Pottorff admitted that on October 31, 2011, in Bannock County, Idaho, she forcibly fled from a deputy U.S. Marshal who was attempting to serve her with a federal subpoena, thereby opposing and impeding the federal officer in the performance of his duties.
The charge is punishable by up to one year in prison, a maximum fine of $100,000, and a term of supervised release of not more than one year.
Sentencing is set for June 28, 2012, before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
