A ridge of high pressure will shift east tonight before a frontal system moves through the area on Tuesday, bringing a wintry mix for the morning. Cold and brisk northwest flow will return for midweek with lake effect and upslope snows impacting the northwest mountains and laurel highlands. Following a brief visit from high pressure on Thursday, unsettled weather is forecast from Friday into the weekend with a gradual moderation in temperatures.
