2012 Videos of the Year: Surf’s up!

We are past the halfway point for the contest, and today’s video takes us on a thrilling boat ride with the men and women of Coast Guard Station Coos Bay, Ore., as they train in the harsh environment of the Pacific Northwest. Battling waves and weather is just another day at the office for these boatcrews.

The 2012 Videos of the Year began Saturday, with voting open through Jan. 4, 2013. Continuing through New Year’s Eve, Coast Guard Compass will publish one of the top 10 videos each day including commentary from a servicemember who participated in the mission.

Make sure to watch the videos as they are posted on Compass, Facebook and YouTube, and then cast your vote!

To vote for your favorite videos, choose “Like” on the Coast Guard’s Facebook page or on the Coast Guard’s YouTube 2012 Videos of the Year playlist. You can also see a highlight compilation of the top 10 videos.
