Richard Fox appointed Regional Attorney in Newark Regional Office

National Labor Relations Board Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon announced the appointment of Richard Fox as the Regional Attorney of the NLRB’s Regional Office in Newark, New Jersey (Region 22).

In his new position, Mr. Fox will assist Regional Director Michael Lightner in the administration and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act in northern and central New Jersey. He replaces Maria E. Balzano, who retired.

A native of Great Neck, New York, Mr. Fox received his B.A. degree from Franklin and Marshall College and his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.  He began his NLRB career as a field attorney in the Newark office in 1992.  He was promoted to Supervisory Field Attorney in 2000 and Deputy Regional Attorney in 2008. 

The National Labor Relations Board is an independent federal agency vested with the power to safeguard employees’ rights to organize and to determine whether to have unions as their bargaining representative. The Agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions.
