Webinar - Traceability Assessments for Weights and Measures

Purpose:

This 2 hour webinar will introduce metrological traceability.

Metrological traceability is a characteristic of a measurement result. A laboratory is not traceable. A standard is not traceable. A NIST Test Number is not traceable. This session covers the definition of metrological traceability and the essential elements that must be documented to provide objective evidence that a measurement result is in fact, traceable.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • IDENTIFY and DESCRIBE the definitions of Metrological Traceability;
  • IDENTIFY the essential elements required to demonstrate metrological traceability;
  • USE a Traceability Assessment form for W&M applications to assess evidence;
  • USE the forms and knowledge of the essential elements and the traceability assessment process; to evaluate current and new W&M standards; and
  • ANSWER questions about metrological traceability.
