NuGrain Laboratories Case Study Packet 2010

Case study packets illustrate the Baldrige Award application and evaluation process. Each packet includes

• a case study, which is a sample Baldrige Award application showing a fictitious organization's responses to the requirements of the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence
  
• a scorebook produced by a team of Baldrige Examiners who evaluate the fictional application against the Criteria
• a feedback report modeled on the report received by actual Award applicants
• an executive summary describing the case study’s components and use

Case studies show you the format and general content of an Award application. However, because the primary purpose of the case study is to provide learning opportunities for Baldrige Examiners and others, the case study purposely does not address all Criteria requirements or demonstrate role-model responses in all areas. NuGrain Laboratories Case Study

NuGrain Laboratories (NuGrain) is a government-owned, contractor-operated research laboratory managed by Nebraska Free University. It is headquartered in Kearney, Nebraska, in facilities owned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), with additional research facilities at three distinct U.S. geographic sites. NuGrain provides unique research and development for the USDA through a variety of projects representing “cradle-to-grave” research of corn and wheat products. The NuGrain Case Study is based on the 2009–2010 Criteria for Performance Excellence.
