Hello everyone. As you may have heard from the news, a typhoon has just struck Iligan City here in the Philippines. There were lots of victims, including me, as I have just found my possessions underwater. But what's really heart-pinching is the grave number of deaths that occurred during the typhoon. More than 400 people died including families and children. And currently, we are holding evacuees at several places here in Iligan including our university.

If you would like to donate something to help out the evacuees, be it in the form of money, food, clothing or whatever things that can help them, please send them to:

I'm Alaykka Fowler and I'm from the Philippines. I think I got lost here. :) I'm not a teacher yet. However, I've been eager to learn the French language. I hope that there are State Department-sponsored programs for college undergrads to go on a French program.
