The Defense Leadership and Management Program (DLAMP) officially ended on September 30, 2010. Established in 1997, DLAMP developed a cadre of highly capable senior civilian leaders with a joint perspective on managing the Department's workforce and programs. This program achieved its goal of developing civilian leaders with a Department of Defense (DoD)-wide perspective, substantive knowledge of the national security mission, and strong leadership and management skills. The final DLAMP Graduation Ceremony will be held on November 15, 2010 for the DLAMP graduates and invited guests.
Created in response to our changing environment, the Defense Senior Leader Development Program (DSLDP) is the successor program to DLAMP, and began admitting participants in January 2009. DSLDP institutes a competency-based approach to the deliberate development of senior civilian leaders with the Enterprise-wide perspective needed to lead organizations and programs, and achieve results in the Joint, interagency, and multi-national environments
