Alaska Groundfish Stocks Survey, 1982-2011
Alaska Groundfish Stocks Survey, 1982-2011
Population
rockfish, bottom trawl, Biota, crab, oceans, ...
The Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering Division (RACE) of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) conducts bottom trawl surveys to monitor the condition of the demersal fish and crab stocks of Alaska. These data include catch per unit effort for each identified species at a standard set of stations. This is a subset of the main database. Excluded are non standard stations, earlier years using different gear, and other types of data collected other than species id, species weight, water temperature and depth. The data set was developed to describe the temporal distribution and abundance of commercially and ecologically important groundfish species, examine the changes in the species composition of species over time and space, and describe the physical environment of the groundfish habitat.

Groundfish Observer Maps for Alaska, 1993-2010
Groundfish Observer Maps for Alaska, 1993-2010
Population
distribution, OCCELLA DODECAEDRON BERING POACHER, ...
Subset of the Alaska observer groundfish data, aggregating by 400km square cells and eliminating cells with less than 3 vessels to create a public version of the Alaska groundfish observer data. Allows visitors use of the aggregated observer data to create maps. These maps are designed to provide a better understanding of where groundfish are caught in the Aleutian Islands, Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.

Survey of Groundfish Ages in Alaska, 1980-2011
Survey of Groundfish Ages in Alaska, 1980-2011
Population
rougheye rockfish, Pacific cod, prowfish, ...
This collection is from the RACE survey dataset where specimens were collected during groundfish trawl and acoustic surveys. The Age and Growth Program is a service organization that provides age data that contributes to our basic understanding of a species whether it is in the context of sustainable fisheries, species conservation, or species ecology. The program is primarily focused on age data for age structured modeling of exploited fish populations.
