Federal Aviation Administration

Aerospace Medical Certification Subsystem (AMCS) Online Support

FAA MedXPress is a web application used by pilots to submit their certification applicant information (Items 1 through 20) of the FAA Form 8500-8. Pilots need only a valid email address to create a MedXPress account and to participate in FAA MedXPress.

MedXPress is another step the Office of Aerospace Medicine is taking toward becoming paperless. MedXPress is designed to expedite the processing of an applicant’s request for certification and shorten the applicant’s office visit with the AME.

As of October 1, 2012, pilots are required to use MedXPress. MedXPress is located at https://medxpress.faa.gov/.

This document (PDF) provides you, the AME, with an overview of the steps you should follow when processing MedXPress applications.

Please note: At this time MedXPress is not available for use by FAA Air Traffic Controllers.
