The Bureau of Land Management's Northern California District's field offices include diverse landscapes stretching from the cold deserts of the western Great Basin to the ancient redwoods of the nortrhern coast.


The Surprise Field Office manages nearly 1.5 million acres of public land straddling the border of northeast California and northwest Nevada.  From beautiful Surprise Valley at the base of the towering Warner Mountains, east into the high desert valleys and mountains of northwestern Nevada.  This diverse landscape offers a wealth of resources and opportunities for public use and enjoyment.
