BLM Approves CBNG Projects

The Bureau of Land Management Miles City Field Office has approved the Tongue River-Deer Creek North and Decker Mine East federal projects proposed by Fidelity Exploration & Development Company and located within the CX Field near Decker.

Work activity on the 48 federal wells will include drilling and infrastructure construction. The BLM’s project approvals include compliance measures to minimize environmental and land use impacts.

The water produced with the production of the gas from both projects will be put to beneficial use or discharged into the Tongue River in accordance with Fidelity’s existing water discharge permits issued by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality.

Both projects will use existing roads, facilities and water management infrastructure that currently serves existing wells on state and private lands in the area.

The BLM decisions and completed Environmental Assessments for these projects will be available online at: www.blm.gov/mt/st/en/fo/miles_city_field_office.html.

For more information contact BLM Assistant Field Manager David Breisch at (406) 233-3645.
