Wacker, James P. - Research General Engineer

Areas of Focus

Developing improved relationships between several NDE techniques and different stages of decay
New inspection methods and/or long-term performance monitoring of exterior timber structures
New repair and rehabilitation techniques for highway and railroad bridges

Research Goals

Research goals are to develop innovative techniques for assessing member and/or structural system integrity. An integral part of these efforts is the development of smart bridge concepts whereby a computer control system monitors performance within established parameters.
