Selected for reassignment as Director of Logistics, Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.

Mr. Gilbert J. Montoya, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is Director, 448th Supply Chain Management Wing, Air Force Global Logistics Support Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. The wing is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating engine and supply chain management, aircraft acquisition, and maintenance management policies and practices applied to Air Force Global Logistics Support Center. This includes all aircraft engines and more than 36,000 aircraft commodities, conventional and advanced weapon systems and subsystems in support of worldwide deployment. He is responsible for four groups; 638th Supply Chain Management Group, Robins AFB, Ga.; 748th Supply Chain Management Group, Hill AFB, Utah; and the 848th and the 948th Supply Chain Management Groups, Tinker AFB, Okla., providing support to the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, federal agencies and multiple foreign countries worldwide.

Mr. Montoya began his career in 1985 as an aircraft ordnance systems mechanic assigned to the Aircraft Production Division, San Antonio Air Logistics Center. He completed the Inventory Management Training Program in October 1988 and has held numerous logistics positions within the SA-ALC. These include Chief of the Royal Saudi Air Force F100 Engine Branch as well as the Deputy and then Chief of the Commodity Support Division, Aerospace Equipment Directorate. He also served on the Air Staff as the lead for the Air Force Global Combat Support Systems efforts.

While assigned to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Mr. Montoya has been Deputy Chief of the Fighter Propulsion Division, Director of Staff and Deputy Director of Propulsion Management. He was then selected as the Deputy Director, 327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing, OC-ALC, and served there until January 2007. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Montoya was Deputy Commander for Plans and Operations of the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, Defense Logistics Agency, Pa.
