Listening to the People, House Casts 30th Vote to Scrap ObamaCare

A bipartisan majority of the House voted today to repeal a medical device tax in the president’s health care law that would tax job creators “out of existence” and send American jobs overseas.

This is the 30th House vote to repeal, defund, and dismantle parts of ObamaCare, which is raising costs and making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers. And “unless the Supreme Court throws out the entire law,” Speaker John Boehner said today, “we will keep working to repeal whatever is left.”

A new CBS / New York Times survey shows the American people agree: ObamaCare needs to go:

  • According to the New York Times, “[m]ore than two-thirds of Americans hope the Supreme Court will overturn some or all of the 2010 health care law.”
  • “More than 70 percent of independent voters said they wanted to see some or all of the law struck down,” says NYT, “with a majority saying they hoped to see the whole law overturned.”
  • The survey results show more Democrats (48 percent) want to see all or part of the president’s law overturned than want it upheld (42 percent).
