            WASHINGTON, D.C. – As Senate Democrats continue their push to use cap and trade legislation to impose massive new energy taxes on American families, businesses, and farmers in the middle of the worst recession in generations, U.S. Senator Kit Bond today called on his colleagues during a hearing of the Senate Environment and Public Works committee to instead adopt policies that embrace clean, affordable, American energy sources. Bond pointed specifically to the resistance by Congressional Democrats and President Obama to the expansion of nuclear power and American energy sources.

 

            “Republicans are the ‘party of yes’ when it comes to supporting clean energy, American energy and affordable energy,” Bond said. “Republicans support harnessing the largest source of clean energy we have – nuclear power.”
