The Enoree has scheduled volunteer workdays on the Enoree OHV Trail coming up!
January 28th, 2017 from 8:00 to 4:00 pm. (CANCELLED due to no volunteers)
February 18th, 2017 from 8:00 to 4:00 pm.
Anyone interested in participating for an 8 hour workday will earn a Francis Marion & Sumter motorized trail seasonal pass, good for a year from date earned. Volunteers need to sign-up ahead of time to reserve their spot. To sign up they can call or send an email to Alice Riddle ariddle@fs.fed.us (803) 321-2982. There is a 20 person limit for each workday.
Walking the trail, trimming back branches, opening up the trail corridor, painting trail blazes, trail hardening, and litter pick-up is some the work lined up to complete.
We can't thank you enough for helping to keep South Carolina's national forests clean by packing out litter when you find it! But if you come across items like these, PLEASE, for your safety, leave them untouched and report the location as accurately as you can to the district ranger station or to local law enforcement. These are typical items associated with mobile meth lab dumps, (as well as tubing, duct tape, gas additives, common diet or cold pill packages, batteries and solvents). Meth lab waste can be very toxic through absorption and inhalation, and can also be an explosive hazard. Please be safe! Stay clear and report the dump location.
All visitors should wear hunter safety orange while using any of our trails or exploring the forests during hunting seasons. Specific seasons and dates for hunting can be found in the SCDNR hunting regulations publication or at www.dnr.sc.gov.
