September 2011 retail and food services sales were $395.5 billion, up 1.1 percent from the previous month and up 7.9 percent from one year ago. Excluding autos, retail and food services sales in September were $326.7 billion, up 0.6 percent from August and up 7.8 percent from September 2010.
