The Child’s Family |
The environment of the family, including
parents’ physical and mental health and the activities that
go on at home, provide the backdrop and context for children’s
health and development. Therefore, the survey explored a number of
aspects of the family, including shared activities (such as reading
to young children, shared meals, and attending religious services)
as well as risk factors (such as smoking in the household, parenting
aggravation, and the health status of the child’s mother). These
indicators provide a picture of some of the factors that can influence
children’s health and well-being. |
