Mediated Case Settlements

The following press releases describe cases in which the Department of Justice used alternative dispute resolution — usually, mediation — to facilitate a fair and just settlement of a lawsuit. Mediation involves the use of a neutral third party who assists the parties in exploring a broader range of creative settlement options which might better serve the interests of both sides than litigation would.
