Ranger-led curriculum-based programs are offered year round to school groups and other youth groups at Antietam Battlefield's Mumma Farm Education Center. These programs are free, but must be reserved in advance. Park rangers also offer training/professional development seminars for teacher groups. Robert Gould Shaw

Robert Gould Shaw served as a Captain in the 2nd Massachusetts Infantry and was wounded in the Cornfield at Antietam before taking command of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry made famous in the movie Glory.
