Air Quality Standards
Air Quality Standards
EPA's Air, Climate, and Energy Research provides the scientific foundation to assist with the development and implementation of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) under the Clean Air Act. Advances in health, exposure and atmospheric sciences have reduced uncertainty associated with establishing air pollution regulations and in developing methods, models and tools needed for air quality management decisions and their implementation.
Scientists work closely with EPA's Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards to establish priorities and ensure the maximum utility of data and discoveries.
