DEDICATED SEAT PROGRAM -  ASSURE YOUR PLACE IN HISTORY

Dedicated SeatTradition lives here at the National Theatre, where every President since 1835 has visited, and every major American star of the past has appeared. Now YOU are invited to become part of the future of this beloved theatre in a special way.

You can dedicate a seat at the National, reserved with a beautiful brass commemorative seat plate in your name or to honor a relative, friend, or organization of your choice. The seat makes a truly unique gift to honor a friend who already "has everything."

You can also add an appropriate inscription. In this special way, you create a permanent remembrance in our nation's oldest continually operating professional theatre.

You will receive an Authentication Certificate suitable for framing. The Certificate confirms the location of the seat and the inscription on it. This handsome document provides a remembrance for you, or a fine presentation gift If you are honoring another person.

Seat PlateDEDICATION SENTIMENT - You can use up to four lines to express your sentiments, or to honor another person. Of course, the fewer the words you use, the larger the type and the easier to read - but still, we encourage you not to restrict yourself to a name alone. See Sample inscriptions below.

CONTRIBUTION - Like theatre tickets, the seat contributions vary by location - from $300 (Side Balcony) to $1,500 (Orchestra Center). However, a theatre ticket is good for only one performance, and is not tax-deductible. But the Dedicated Seat bears your inscription at all performances! And since The National Theatre is a 501.c.3 not-for-profit cultural organization, your contribution is deductible as a charitable contribution, to the full extent of the law.

THE PRESIDENTIAL ROW - One row is reserved for seats dedicated to Presidents, with a contribution of $5,000. Those honored to date are George H. W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, William Clinton, Gerald Ford, Lyndon Johnson, James Monroe, Ronald Reagan, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman. The donor receives a duplicate of the Presidential name plate-mounted on velvet, framed in gold with a photo of the theatre interior.

WHERE DOES MY CONTRIBUTION GO?

Contributions support the trustee-designated National Theatre Endowment fund, created to ensure the preservation and continuation of the National Theatre as a viable venue for the presentation of first-class theatre and music productions. These funds are used only for such major projects as the theatre's renovation and as an emergency reserve.  By creating an ongoing endowment, the trustees are working to preserve the historic National Theatre for future generations.
