CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --

Beginning Feb. 24 and continuing for seven days, Southern California Edison will be operating an auxiliary boiler at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Staion to perform planned maintenance activities.

Steam may be visible from the beach or highway. Both units will remain safely offline during this maintenance.

SONGS is still working within the federal regulatory review process and are awaiting a final decision from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on a restart plan.

SCE will not restart either unit until they and the NRC are satisfied that it is safe to do so.
