PEACHTREE CITY, GA — April 11, 2007 — Dr. Elaine Beraza, Director, Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDS-Cuba) announced today that Mrs. Linda Kidd has been named the principal of Diamond Elementary School, Fort Stewart, GA.

"We're very pleased to have a person with Linda's abilities and experience as both a classroom teacher and an administrator lead Diamond," said Dr. Joseph Guiendon, South Carolina/Fort Stewart District superintendent. "She has been commended for her desire to put the needs of the children first."

Kidd taught in Virginia and Florida prior to being selected as a Language Arts reading specialist for DoDEA in 1987. She was promoted to assistant principal of Osan American Elementary School (OAES) in Osan, Korea, in 1999. She became the OAES principal in 2003.

She earned her bachelor's of arts degree in Elementary Education from Berea College, Berea, KY, and her master's degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She was named Japan Teacher of the Year in 1996.

Kidd is married to Randall Allan Kidd and they have three sons and three grandchildren.
