Nanoscience Classroom Resources

This collection of lessons and web resources is aimed at classroom teachers, their students, and students’ families. Most of these resources come from the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). NSDL is the National Science Foundation’s online library of resources for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. See www.nsdl.org

Nanobiotechnology Center

The Nanobiotechnology Center (NBTC) integrates nano/microfabrication and biosystems to the benefit of both. The NBTC has a traveling exihibit for children ages 5-8 years old called It's a Nano World, a club for middle school, Tri-Sci Club for Girls, and high school summer internships in nanotechnology. There are also many opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to pursue independent research and to participate in the K-12 educational programs of the NBTC.

This Web site is dedicated to increasing public knowledge of the nanoscale world and the emerging molecular research through the creation of the NanoKids educational outreach program. The NanoKids visual concept utilizes forms exhibiting human characteristics to: increase students’ comprehension of chemistry, physics, biology, and materials science at the molecular level; generate informed interest in nanotechnology; and provide teachers with conceptual tools to teach nanoscale science for students with diverse learning styles and interests.
