Come join hundreds of other onlookers, who wait with anticipation for the Saltwater Cowboys to move a large group of Chincoteague Ponies from the northern area of the Refuge, down the beach, to a corral located along Beach Road, in preparation for the Annual Pony Swim |

Join the Kiwanis Club and the Chincoteague Island Community in celebrating the 50th year of the Assateague Bridge. A parade will kick off the celebration and will lead you to the Herbert H. Bateman Educational Center where you will see historic cars, nostalgic slide show, experience family games and activities, live animal shows, free food and ice cream, and a 60's sock hop. Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge celebrates the marvel of fall migration. It’s a special time of year! From noon to 3:30 pm, Thanksgiving through the following Sunday, personal vehicles are permitted to be driven on the Service Road, providing a unique opportunity for wildlife viewing.
