U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will deliver a keynote address on the Department’s work to meet the higher education needs of service members and veterans at the Department of Defense (DoD) Worldwide Education Symposium in Las Vegas on Wednesday, July 25. Kanter will discuss the Obama Administration’s proposals to reform and strengthen higher education for all students. She will also give details on the President’s ongoing Executive Order: Establishing Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses and Other Family Members.

The symposium is held every three years and attracts voluntary education personnel from each of the military service branches. It is hosted by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES).
