ABBIX Project

ABBIX stands for Advanced Beamlines for Biological Investigations with X-rays, a set of three beamlines being developed for the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), with funding from the National Institutes of Health.

AMX: Flexible Access Macromolecular Crystallography – Advanced macromolecular crystallography (MX) beamline for the elucidation of structure and function of macromolecular complexes

FMX: Frontier Macromolecular Crystallography – A leading micro-focusing macromolecular crystallography beamline for revealing the structure and function of macromolecular complexes from small, weekly diffracting heterogeneous or especially radiation-sensitive crystals

LIX: High-brightness X-ray Scattering for Life Sciences – Offering high-throughput and time-resolved x-ray scattering measurements of proteins and DNA/RNA in solution, grazing incident scattering from 2D solutions of membrane proteins, and scanning-probe imaging and tomography of biological tissues
