Objectives
To define a Battle Force Command and Control Tactical Decision Aid (TACAID)
System focusing on giving a squadron-level Tactical Action Officer (TAO) the
ability to counter threats through an open, component-based architecture. TACAID
accomplishes this by presenting the TAO with an advanced Tactical Decision Aid
(TDA) to assist the TAO in managing assets in a more coordinated, distributed
manner through a network-centric warfare paradigm.
To have the ability to gather metrics and inject scenarios. This allows
TACAID to be utilized for training, as an experimentation station, and to build
consistently more complex and accurate algorithms that generate the
recommendations to the warfighter.
Requirement
Today’s commanders have to process vast amounts of data and manage large
numbers of assets to make coordinated, force-level tactical decisions. There is
a requirement to provide the right information to the commander in a readily
consumable and timely format to counter the threat.
