Applications By Members of Other Services
Members of other branches of the service wanting to join Air Force ROTC may apply for the Professional Officer Course-Early Release Program (POC-ERP) or the Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP).
They must first obtain a conditional release from their enlistment from their service's personnel system.
You can do this with a DD Form 368, Request for Conditional Release. Have it filled out (fax it to us at DSN 493-9968 to get the Requester's Signature), process it through your chain of command for the appropriate signatures then include it in your application package.
Other service members applying for entry into Air Force ROTC must meet the requirements for the program they are applying to. These requirements are listed at the links below:
To apply, go to the appropriate section in our "How To Apply" link, download the appropriate forms, fill them out, get the appropriate signatures and documents together and mail them to HQ AFROTC by the appropriate deadlines.
Substitute the following cover letter for the cover letter listed on the "How to Apply" link. Where appropriate, substitute your service's equivalent (performance reports, personnel data printout, etc.) documents for those specified.
If you have questions on how to apply, please contact your nearest Air Force Base Education Office. A list is provided here. For questions on how to obtain a conditional release from your enlistment (i.e., conditioned on your entry into a commissioning program), please see your personnel office for assistance.
