China - Summary of Requirements

Cattle

Informative Note

Only People’s Republic of China health certificate is approve the health certificates for the export of bovine semen and embryos from USA to PRC. When filing the health certificate form please use the Tab key to move from field to field. Do NOT use the Enter key.

Please before bovine semen and embryos are eligible for export, the collection facilities must be inspected by Chinese officials.

Poultry

As of July 24, 2008, China has banned the importation of all poultry from the state of Arkansas

As of June 20, 2008, China has banned the importation of all poultry from the state of Virginia.

As of January 28/February 17, 2013, China has banned the importation of all poultry from the state of New York.

Duck viral hepatitis: for ducks without DVH vaccination, chicken embryo neutralization test is required; and for ducks with DVH vaccination, ducks should only be vaccinated against Type I DVH with recommended dosage of killed vaccines. In the export health certificate, type of vaccines, dosage, vaccination date and the manufacturer of the vaccines should be specified. PCR test should be performed on proportion of samples as required in the protocol.

Note: As of March 09, 2011 China requires temporary attestation for novel A/H1N1 flu.

  • Lab mice - Animals for export are to be accompanied by a valid health certificate containing the following information:
    • The mice are SPF mice, born and raised in an isolated facility
    • The animals have not shown any clinical signs of monkey pox, at least 6 months prior to export.
    • The premise of mice production and within a radius of 50km has not had any monkey pox occurrences, at least 6 months prior to export.
    • The animals have not had any contact with people or animals with monkey pox infection.

Aquaculture

For species not listed, the requirements are not known. However, exporters wanting to ship livestock whose requirements are not listed in the IREGS, should have the interested party (importer/buyer) in the country of destination apply for an Import Permit at the appropriate ministry. This Import Permit will most likely outline the specific requirements.
