USAID strongly supports tuberculosis prevention activities through a variety of programs in many countries. In FY 2009 USAID’s funding for TB was $176 million. With these resources, USAID supported expansion of services to diagnose and treat TB, MDR TB and TB/HIV in countries with a high burden of the disease, as well as critical research activities.
