Early DismissalParents are required to sign out students in the office for "early dismissal." The reason for early dismissal should be indicated. A "Marshall Elementary School Dismissal Slip" will be issued and must be presented to classroom teacher before student is dismissed. For safety purposes, all parents, guardians, and adults authorized by parent/guardian to checkout students, will be asked to present identification at the time of student sign out. Please make sure that information regarding person authorized to check out students is current. If returning the student to school later in the day, parent must sign in through the office. Early dismissal should be done before 2:55 P.M. due to the arrival of buses and the need to ensure the safe dismissal of all students. VisitationParents and visitors are always welcome at Marshall Elementary School. However, we feel that we have an obligation to provide a safe, secure learning environment for our staff and students. Visitors can be disruptive to the learning environment and many children are distracted by visits to the classroom. To ensure that this does not occur, we ask that visitations be scheduled with the classroom teacher at least 24 hours in advance. Parents are encouraged to have lunch with your child at any time. All visitors (including parents and those whose visits are pre-arranged) will be asked to sign a visitor's log and will be issued a visitor's badge, which you are required to wear. At the end of your visit, you must sign out in the visitor's log and return your badge. Reports and RecordsProgress reports are issued every nine weeks. Parent/Teacher conferences are held in October, December, and March (at the end of the first, second, and third grading periods). Cumulative records are maintained for all students. All material in the cumulative record will be maintained as being confidential. |
