ARLINGTON, VA — On September 25, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) will host an event at Quantico Middle School/High School on Quantico Marine Corps Base to launch the initiative, "Picturing America."
"Picturing America" helps teach American history and provides students with a gateway to the entire universe of the humanities. It is a free resource that provides each participating institution with a comprehensive package of materials that includes:
The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. Please plan to arrive at Quantico Marine Corps Base's main gate located off of I-95 (Exit 150) at 9:30 a.m. to allow for security measures and travel time to the school. Directions from the main gate to the school are listed at the bottom of this advisory. DoDEA plans, directs, coordinates, and manages the education programs for Department of Defense dependents who would otherwise not have access to a high-quality public education. DoDEA consists of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools located overseas, and the Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools located in the United States and its territories and possessions. DoDEA provides education to eligible DoD military and civilian dependents from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
