State data quality improvement is a priority to FMCSA and supports the data-driven
Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program. Data-driven safety systems are
vital to informing decisions that improve the safety of our nation′s roads – their
effectiveness depends on complete and accurate crash and inspection reporting and
continual system improvements to focus resources to further reduce crashes.
