This report provides an overview of the Agency’s 2011-2015 strategy
on health-related research and development used to stimulate the development and introduction of key products.
- Global Health: Science and Practice Journal
Global Health: Science and Practice, a new open-access, peer-reviewed online journal with a planned launch in 2012, will provide public health practitioners and researchers an international forum to share and advance state-of-the-art solutions to the most important health problems, especially in low- and middle-income countries. GHSP is now accepting submissions and seeks manuscripts that share valuable best practices and lessons learned resulting from evidence and experiential-based knowledge.
- Global Health and Child Survival: Progress Report to Congress 2010-2011 – May 2012
In the last 20 years, the world has saved more than 50 million children's lives and reduced maternal mortality by one-third. This report details those successes for the time frame of 2010-2011.
- Fifth Annual Report to Congress: A United States Government Interagency Approach to Assisting the World's Most Vulnerable Children - April 2012 [PDF, 1.3MB]
This report highlights the work of the more than thirty offices within five departments and two agencies to assist vulnerable children and their families in 107 countries. In FY 2010, approximately $2.8 billion was provided to implementing partners for 1,710 projects.

Strategic Framework sets the direction of the global health sector for fiscal years 2012–2016. The Strategic Framework incorporates the principles of the Global Health Initiative, which form the foundation of our work, is set within USAID's core development mission and priorities, and promotes an inclusive and integrated approach to global health across the U.S. Government for a more effective and efficient approach to sustainable global health outcomes.

This annual publication provides details on both the quantities and the values of USAID contraceptive and condom distribution activities in FY 2010. It presents these data by USAID region and country, affiliations of recipient organizations, and trends.
- Fiscal Year 2010 Report to Congress on the Global TB Context [PDF, 2.2MB]
This report shows the yearly status of the U.S. Government's (USG) tuberculosis (TB) program. The U.S. Government continues to prioritize support to countries with high rates of TB and multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB), lagging case detection, poor program performance, and where the HIV epidemic is a driver of TB disease.
- Safeguarding the World’s Water: 2011 Report on USAID Fiscal Year 2010 Water Sector Activities – July 2011 [PDF, 3.5MB]
This report shows that during FY 2010, USAID allocated more than $642 million for water sector activities. The amount allocated for water supply, sanitation, and hygiene was $520 million. During this time, USAID provided 2.8 million people with first-time or improved water supply and 2.8 million people with first-time or improved sanitation. Disinfection products, partially or wholly supported by USAID, were used to purify almost 12 billion liters of drinking water, more than 10 billion liters of which were made available to people in African countries.

The Users' Guide contains background information on USAID's Global Health Bureau, its objectives and programs, plus a project directory. It includes the preferred method for USAID operating units to access the awards described in the project directory.
- Promoting Evidence & Action for Respectful Care at Birth – October 2010 [PDF, 454KB]
When women are able to access needed quality health services and protect themselves from the many health risks they face, long-term social and economic progress can be achieved. The U.S. Government’s Global Health Initiative seeks to remove barriers that prevent women from accessing lifesaving health services.

The United States will invest $63 billion over six years to help partner countries improve health outcomes through strengthened health systems – with a particular focus on improving the health of women, newborns and children through programs including infectious disease, nutrition, maternal and child health, and safe water.
