Substance Abuse Control Officer (SACO) is the commander's Level 1 program coordinator, technical advisor on policies and liaison with professional assets. Duties include unit education/prevention program, screening alcohol/drug abusers and referring them to the Substance Abuse Control Center. The SACO monitors the after care program for the unit, conducts the urinalysis testing program and is a member of the Substance Abuse Task Force Panel.
