This is to inform you that
Commitment 225 of the Implementation Plan (IP) for the Defense Nuclear
Facilities Safety Board Recommendation 2000-1, Revision 2, Stabilization and Storage
of Nuclear Material,
has been completed.
Commitment 225 was to complete
disposition of pre-existing enriched uranium solution and enriched uranium
solution resulting from Mk-16/22 Spent Nuclear Fuel dissolution at the Savannah
River Site. �This work was completed on June
22, 2005, by the dissolution and blend-down of high enriched uranium to low
enriched uranium (LEU) and subsequent shipment of the LEU to the Tennessee
Valley Authority. �This was accomplished
3 months ahead of the September 2005 commitment identified in the IP.
