Jackson Elementary, which opened in 1960, is a Pre K through 5th grade school, located on a 27.5 acre site on Mississippi Avenue, which is in Tennessee. It is one of six elementary schools in the Fort Campbell School System. Jackson serves students who live in the housing areas of Drennan Park, New Hammond Heights, Stryker Village, Barker Court, and Turner Loop.
Jackson has maintained a long standing reputation of achieving excellence evidenced by being the first Kentucky school to be awarded the Presidential Award of Excellence (Blue Ribbon School) in 1987, as well as earning Master School Status for Reading Renaissance in 2003. Jackson was featured on the CBS news program 60 Minutes for its exceptional NAEP scores, which were related to strong parental involvement.
