Biographical Sketch

Xuefei "Rebecca" Yuan works with researchers at Berkeley Lab's Computational Research Division (CRD) to improve the hybrid linear software package based on the Schur complement method and with computational physicists at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) to accelerate the four-field extended MHD codes with Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).

Before being a postdoctoral fellow in NERSC's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) on May 31st, 2011, Rebecca earned her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Columbia University. She worked with Professor David E. Keyes at Columbia University and Professor Stephen C. Jardin at Princeton University on "The Grid Generation Techniques in Magnetic Reconnection Simulation".

Originally from China, Rebecca lived in her hometown Chongqing before she went to Hangzhou, where she received her B.S. in Computational Mathematics at Zhejiang University. She loves swimming, jogging, hiking, and playing badminton.
