drama club

Eagle Productions (Jackson Chorus Club)

Eagle Productions is an after school opportunity to work with other talented kids your age.

  • For 4th and 5th grade students want to sing and act on stage. 
  • We meet after school two days a week to rehearse for two productions which are presented in December and in the Spring of each year.
  • If you are interested in joining Eagle Productions our two opportunities open up early each September and January.

fitt club

F.I.T.T. Club

  • Students in third, fourth and fifth grade can participate in Jackson's F.I.T.T. Club.
  • Club meets Wednesdays afterschool until 4:30 and helps students to promote healthy exercise habits.
  • They participate in a number of activities inlcuding the Queen City Road Race, the JES Dualathon and Jump Rope for the Heart.

JTN Club

Fourth and Fifth Grade students can participate in the Jackson Technology & News (JTN) Club. This club works to bring current school events and news to the school that are produced, edited, and written by students utilizing digital cameras and technology. JTN meets every Wednesday 3:30 - 4:30.


Readers

Drama/Readers Theatre Club

Readers Theater is a dramatic presentation of a written work in a script form.  Readers read from a "script" and reading parts are divided among the readers. Lines are not memorized. The focus is on reading the text with expressive voices and gestures, making comprehending the text meaningful and fun for the student!

The club meets Monday and Thursday 330-430. '

  • Representatives are elected from the fourth and fifth grade classes
  • Officers are elected by the class representatives
  • Minutes of all meetings are available in room 405
  • Activities focus on service, school spirit, and fundraising

S'Cool (Science) Club

Students’ Cloud Observations On-Line (S’COOL) is a hands-on project which supports NASA research on the Earth’s climate. Science, math, and geogra­phy are used as students observe, compute and lo­cate vital information through ground truth observa­tions for the CERES instrument. Fourth and fifth grade students at Jackson meet on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30 in room 405 to review observation times, submit data, and explore other weather related activities.
