Your first week will be spent satisfying your basic requirements: procuring your Common Access Card (CAC) and building badge (if necessary), completing the required Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and security training, developing your Performance Plan, and becoming acquainted with your office and its projects.
Setting Up Your Secure Accounts
You need to get your Common Access Card (CAC) as soon as possible after your EOD. You will not be able to obtain your CAC until after your EOD personnel action has been processed. Your CAC will not only admit you authorized secure areas, it also opens the door for you to a variety of online tools that you will need.
The first online program that you will need to access is the Standard Labor Data Collection and Distribution Application (SLDCADA), which you will use every pay period to enter your time and attendance. You'll also need to know how to enter telework time and various kinds of leave. There is a special procedure that you'll have to go through to set your workstation up in order to access SLDCADA. Make sure you do this as soon as possible after your EOD.
Required Training
When you have finished each of the required training modules, be sure to print your completion certificate and maintain it in your file. Provide a copy of the certificate to your Supervisor, and find out from him/her whether or not you'll need to provide a copy to your Training Coordinator. If your workstation includes Adobe Acrobat Professional, you may create .pdf copies and forward them to your Supervisor and Training Coordinator via email.
