Industrial Safety

General Safety includes traditional safety disciplines such as machine guarding, personal protective equipment (PPE), electrical safety, accident prevention and investigation, building design and code review, fire safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulatory compliance. Safety’s role is to protect the health and well-being of employees, visitors, and the public from hazards present at or created in the workplace. These factors may be present as a result of workplace activities, building systems, or environmental influences. Safety specialists are called upon to investigate workplace problems, evaluate their extent and then initiate corrective actions to work towards their solution. ESH&A has numerous tools available to ensure safety including inspections, training, and consultation. Call on ESH&A if you have any questions related to your safety and the safety of those working at the Laboratory.
