Strong Winter Storm Expected to Impact the Plains by Midweek

A storm system in the West will gather strength and eventually become a strong storm over the Plains by Wednesday. A foot of snow or more is possible by Thursday in portions of Kansas and Nebraska. Significant ice accumulation is possible from portions of the Southern Plains to Mid-Mississippi River Valley. Farther south, severe thunderstorms are expected from Texas to the Lower Miss. Valley.
