2/28/2013 - SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Thirteen Sheppard master sergeants were selected for promotion to senior master sergeant here at Sheppard Air Force base.
The Air Force released the list of 1,367 master sergeants selected for promotion to senior master sergeant Feb. 28. According to Air Force Personnel Center officials, those selected represent 10.65 percent of the 12,834 eligible.
Senior Master Sergeants serve as superintendents, mentor the enlisted and spearhead the accomplishments of a unit's major mission or goal. On average only about ten percent of eligible master sergeants are chosen for the promotion to senior master sergeant.
