Economic Development

The work of Economic Development is a critical component of TVA's reason for being. TVA works to achieve this mission by serving as a catalyst for sustainable economic development in the TVA region. We carry out this mission through a focus on four key tasks:

• Recruiting major industrial operations to locate in the TVA region.
• Encouraging the location and expansion of companies that provide good jobs for our citizens.
• Helping communities develop the assets that make them attractive to companies seeking a new location.
• Offering support to entrepreneurs, women and minorities working to start new businesses.

By working closely with states, communities, distributors and directly served customers, TVA Economic Development strives to improve the lives of those living and working in the Tennessee Valley region.
