Donations: Your tax-deductable gift furthers important work at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Private donations help preserve the various natural and cultural resources, maintain trails, and provide brochures and interpretive programs each year. Donations may be dedicated to enhancing specific activities, such as visitor services, educational programs, maintenance, research, or scientific study. These can be made by check or money order, payable to: National Park Service
Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society Incorporated in 1930, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, educating and celebrating the sculpture and all that it represents while enhancing the visitor experience. Goals of the Society include building a legacy of stewardship of Mount Rushmore through private philanthropy, volunteer leadership, creation and sale of educational products, and public outreach through partnership with the National Park Service. more...The Mount Rushmore History Association has supported education at Mount Rushmore National Memorial since 1993. As a committee of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial Society, our mission is to support and assist the National Park Service with educational, historical and interpretive activities at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. We raise funds for these activities through our membership program, through our three bookstores at the memorial and through our website. |
Did You Know?
A man-made opening called the Hall of Records was created in the mountain behind the heads on Mount Rushmore. Gutzon Borglum and his carvers worked on the Hall of Records from July, 1938, until July, 1939, but it was never finished.
